Our Story
Fil-Can Home Solutions is a family business built from Christian’s love of carpentry, years of hands-on experience, and a desire to create something of his own.

Christian was born in Barlig, Philippines, and moved to Canada with his family when he was 18. After settling in Kenora, he worked with several great local contracting companies, learning on the job and gaining experience in construction, renovations, carpentry, and home repairs. Over the years, he developed a particular love for carpentry and helping homeowners bring their projects to life.

Christian met his wife, Sydney, in 2022, and they married and started their family in 2023. In the summer of 2025, they started Fil-Can Home Solutions as a part-time side business. It quickly grew through word of mouth, repeat customers, and support from the Kenora community. By October 2025, Fil-Can had become Christian’s full-time job.

Today, Fil-Can is booked and busy, with plans to expand the team and create more availability while maintaining the personal approach the business was built on.

The name Fil-Can represents Christian’s Filipino-Canadian story, while the business represents the life and family he has built in Kenora. As a family-owned business, Fil-Can takes pride in quality work, honest service, and treating every customer and their home with the same care they would give their own family.
